Dear Colleagues,
The Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Unit of Bologna has traditionally been the promoter of highly specialised meetings on the diagnosis and treatment of congenital cardiac defects. Given the interest and the enthusiastic response from our colleagues, we decided to create a new international appointment in Bologna starting from June 2022, which will take place every two years.

In the “Summer Talks in Bologna on Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery” we will have the opportunity to explore all aspects of congenital cardiac defects, from anatomical definition and diagnosis to surgical treatment.

Our starting point in June 2022 will be “Summer Talks in Bologna on Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery: the Double Outlet Right Ventricle”.

An outstanding faculty composed of international experts will focus on anatomy, diagnosis, imaging, and surgery of one of the most debated and complex congenital cardiac defects. Special attention will be given to advanced diagnosis, 3D printing, bioinformatics, augmented reality, and simulation. Session-opening comprehensive lectures will be followed by multiple “Live in a Box” presentations. Through a viewer-friendly layout, appropriate discussion time, and constant interaction between participants and faculty, the meeting is designed to be engaging.
